Preparation for Confirmation

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

- CLASSES BEGINS SEPT. 10, 2025 AT 6:00PM
- Preparation for Confirmation 2026 consists of those who are in 8th Grade.
  - **If your child is in Grades 9-12 and have not received your confirmation, please contact Fr. Andre Metrejean to begin preparation: [email protected] 337-394-6021.
- The Fall 2025 schedule includes the following dates:
  - September 10, 17, 24
  - October 8, 15, 22
  - November 5, 12
- Over the course of approximately 8 months [from September through April], students in the Confirmation Program meet once per week with our Confirmation team in the Parish Office. There will be breaks every few weeks with no classes during December. The schedule of classes will be sent to Parents of the Confirmandi.
  
  The requirements for receiving the Confirmation include:
- 1. A copy of the Baptism certificate.
- 2. Regular attendance at the weekend Masses of our Parish.
  3. Attendance at all scheduled classes, special events, retreats and ceremonies. Absences must be excused before the scheduled class or event by the Pastor or DRE.
  4. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament once per month as a family if possible.
  5. 10 hours of Christian service (at St. Theresa Center, Don Bosco Oratory, Community of Jesus Crucified, or at St. Martin de Tours Parish).
- ***Note: Confirmation Candidates who miss more than two classes, Sunday Masses, or do not complete the other requirements each year without a valid reason (serious illness) determined by the DRE WILL NOT REMAIN IN THE CONFIRMATION PROGRAM.
  
  CONFIRMATION CURRICULUM OF INTELLECTUAL FORMATION
  Our Confirmation Curriculum will follow the format of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and adhere to curriculum promulgated by Bishop Douglas Deshotel for the Diocese of Lafayette.
- The Confirmation Retreat will be held on a Saturday close to Confirmation and will consist of a day of prayer, reflection, Sacramental Confession, and Holy Mass. Dates for Retreat and Confirmation will be announced soon.
